Chappell Peaches are grown in the Sandhills of North Carolina by Ken Chappell, a fourth generation farmer who distributes his fruit, both wholesale and retail, through a roadside stand located on Highway 211, between Eagle Springs and Candor, NC. His roadside stand is open seasonally from mid-June until November. Operating Hours are 8:00 until 5:00 daily (Hours may vary due to peach supply).
RALEIGH FARMERS MARKET- Our peaches are also available through Core Farms, operated daily by Tommy and Michele Core at Michele's Fresh Fruit.
2017 Report
A warm February followed by an arctic blast in March has reduced the peach crop drastically. We hope to open in mid June with a partial crop. The U Pick orchard will be closed. The retail customers who buy small amounts of peaches will probably not notice a difference. Those who buy half bushels should call about availability first.
Varieties with a partial crop include contender, cresthaven, fireprince blazeprince, flameprince, carolina gold, and china pearl.
The apple crop appears normal.
